Learning designed like great hospitality.
Canvas courses that carry adult learners from arrival to departure: welcoming, intuitive, and built to be finished.

Canvas courses that carry adult learners from arrival to departure: welcoming, intuitive, and built to be finished.

I design asynchronous courses the way great hotels design a stay. Every touchpoint is intentional, so learners always feel oriented, anticipated, and cared for.
Pre-arrival: I set expectations before the course opens, so learners know exactly what they are walking into.
Arrival: a welcoming home page where learners can tell in seconds that they belong.
The stay: a consistent, intuitive rhythm with real scenarios and visible instructor presence, so momentum never breaks.
Departure: an intentional close, with reflection and a clear path to what comes next.
Post-departure: the relationship continues, into the next course or the profession.

Dr. Ed Walden is an educator, instructional designer, and training leader who designs learning experiences that connect theory to practice and prepare adults to lead with confidence and care. His work spans hospitality, workforce development, and higher education, with a focus on relevance, application, and real-world impact.
Grounded in adult learning theory and servant leadership, Dr. Ed creates learning experiences that respect experience, strengthen leadership capability, and support organizational culture.
I believe adults learn best when they can connect new ideas to their past experiences and clearly see how learning applies to their lives and work in the moment. Learning becomes meaningful when it respects what adults already know and challenges them to apply new thinking in practical, relevant ways. This belief guides every course, program, and learning experience I design.
